How to establish a simple Skin Care Routine

To keep your face as youthful and radiant as possible, you need to have an effective skin care routine, but here at The BeautyCorner, we know how easy it can be to get lost in a sea of skin care products when establishing a good skin care routine.

Well let's start by first things first: What is a Skin Care Routine?
It is simply a daily routine that you should adopt to properly cleanse and moisturize your face. You should do it every morning when you wake up and every evening before you go to bed, so" simple and quick" is key here!!
But before we further detail each step, you have to know that determining your skin type is crucial to pick up the right products you gonna use for your skin care routine. Find out what skin type you have here.

The Basic 3-Step Skincare Regimen:

1)-Cleansing: You need to find a good cleanser that your skin responds well to, and stick with it. You use it in the morning to get rid of skin impurities like oil for example, and the evening to quickly remove your make up, dirt etc... and let your skin "breath" while you're sleeping.
You can find a good cleanser at the drugstore like Clean and Clear, Neutrogena, l'Oréal etc, or you can opt for a more expensive brand like Estée Lauder, Avène, Vichy...All these products work wonders. Remember to choose a cleanser that is SOAP FREE!
If you have dry/sensitive skin, don't cleanse your face twice per day, you should only wash your face at night: use warm water to loosen dirt and clogged pores.
2)- Moisturizing: A basic rule of beauty is investing in a basic moiturizer. So how much should you moisturize? Your skin will tell you. When your skin is tight, it is craving moisturizer. Always pick up a moisturizer that suits your skin type.

Are eye creams necessary? Well maybe. Some beauty experts strongly recommend eye creams. Why? The skin around the eye contains no fatty tissue and is therefore very thin and susceptible to wrinkles. Special eye creams are formulated to "thicken" this area. However others claim your daily lotion works around the eyes just as well. So it's really up to you!
Is a Night Moisturizer necessary? No. Night moisturizers are more or less like normal moisturizers, sometimes they can have a richer texture, especially for dry skin. So if you're satisfied with the product you already use in the morning, use it at night too! A good alternative to night moisturizers is  natural oil, the more natural the better. Moroccan Argan Oil is very good as it combines both anti-aging and moisturizing effects.

3)-Exfoliating: It is a WEEKLY skin care step that most people skip! Trust me, if you start properly exfoliating your skin, you will notice the difference.
According to Allure Magazine, the best time to exfoliate is in the morning. Exfoliate with a scrub once or twice a week only! Make sure you use a gentle scrub with tiny grains. Big grains in cheap scrubs can tear the skin and cause more harm than good
Rub the product in a circular motion for 30 seconds and then rinse off with warm -- never hot -- water so that any sign of dead skin is erased.

Should you use a toner?  Not really. Toners are meant to remove all remaining traces of oil, makeup and dirt (just like any cleanser) and refine the pores. Personally I splash my face with cold water everytime I cleanse or exfoliate it and it works as good as using a toner!

TIPS: Use sunscreen everyday! The #1 cause of wrinkles is sun damage, so it's important to use a sunscreen from your early years on even in winter and on cloudy days. The good trick is to buy a foundation with SPF protection!  Shiseido has some amazing foundations and sunscreens with high SPF Factors that are really worth the money.
